They came, they danced, they plunged.  And they raised in excess of $40,000 for Special Olympics Virginia!  The Cool School Challenge is a fun, rewarding way to earn service learning credits while helping to build a bigger, better community for Special Olympics Virginia!  Congratulations to Plaza Middle and all the other schools that participated!  We can wait to throw you a great pizza party!

Our team of 39 plungers had a very enthusiastic morning.  Some raced, most plunged, all had fun raising money for a terrific cause!

On Thursday we had the opportunity to lend a hand donating Chicken Parm and Stuffed Shells to feed 160 people.

What is a white pizza, exactly? It’s just like a regular pizza, but instead of that rich tomato-based sauce, a delicate mixture of olive oil, garlic and ricotta cheese serves as the crust-cheese connector. Of course, you could use the regular toppings like sausage and pepperoni, but the best white pizzas have more subtle toppings, even as simple as plain mozzarella with dollops of extra ricotta. If you want to get a little crazier than that, try spinach & mushroom and spinach & tomato. Spinach is extraordinarily rich in essential vitamins and minerals, and a white pizza is a fantastic way to sneak it into a veggie-avoider’s diet! If you’re looking for protein, try adding some grilled chicken or even eggplant.

We had a great time with the thousands of people who love food and the city of Chesapeake just as much as we do! The proceeds from the ticket sales went to benefit the South Norfolk Rotary Club’s fundraising efforts & charities associated with the Chesapeake Sheriff’s Department. Tickets were well priced and afforded the guests access to unlimited food, beverages, and dancing! Tailgate Down, a well-known local rockin’ country band, provided the tunes and made sure that everyone’s feet were moving.

As if all that wasn’t enough, the night was topped off by a generous helping of fireworks, thanks to a local law firm. If you didn’t get to participate in this mid-week afternoon of fun, be sure to mark it on your calendar for next year – the first Wednesday of October! Bring a healthy appetite, because YNot Pizza will definitely be sponsoring this party again.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we can’t find a reason not to support breast health awareness and research, so we’re teaming up with Susan G. Komen for the Cure!

We are sponsoring a Race for the Cure at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront on October 15, and raising funds at all of our stores the week before! From October 10-15, YNot Pizza will be donating a portion of each day’s revenue to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which will not only fund breast health research, but also help defray the costs of screenings and treatments for uninsured women right here in the Hampton Roads area!

October 5 - We had a tent at the 32nd Annual Chesapeake Food Fest, and what a time that was! There was incredible food from restaurants all over the area, and, of course, fabulous pizza from YNot! We will share our pictures with you soon.

October 10-15 – The Pink Mermaid will visit all four YNot locations to raise awareness for breast cancer. Try a free sample of our novelty pink cannoli and cupcakes, and receive a FREE cannoli as a special gift of gratitude whenever you make a donation to support the cause.
